Illumination Entertainment is an American animation studio behind The Secret Life of Pets, founded in 2007 by Chris Meledandri. It is now a subsidiary of Universal Studios, who have released eight feature-films in collaboration with Illumination. Four more are in production with four more untitled films slated from 2021 to 2023. They have a successful blockbuster action-comedy niche, with movies often directed by Chris Renaud.
